Please read carefully, for you will be expected to take the TSAT exam at the end of this article. Ephesians 4 outlines our calling. It is not your job, your house, your car, your net worth that defines you. For a man’s life does not consist in the things that he or she possesses. Your calling is your calling in God. It is not how we make a living; it is your life; your daily life; second by second, minute by minute, in the testimony and witness that you give of Jesus. The world that you live in is not only your world; it is God’s world; for it is God that has made us and not we ourselves. I’m sure we are all aware that Jesus was called a friend of sinners because the common people received him gladly. Do we judge the publican and the harlot unworthy of our church congregation? Please don’t answer that if you’re going to lie. Even though the world is fallen, it still retains the residue of the spirit through the goodness of God which leads all to repentance. We should therefore walk worthy of our vocation, not heady or high-minded, but always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to all God’s creation.
Religions of today are mostly lead by the dollar bill; by the sleight of men with cunning craftiness as the means whereby they lie in wait with bated breath for the moment in which they deceive in the vanity of their minds, making merchandise of the public at large. The Bible calls these hired hirelings, grievous wolves in sheep’s clothing; their understanding being darkened. They have been alienated from the life of God through their absolute ignorance and blindness of their heart. Have you ever had someone that was so callused who called themselves a minister or member of Christ to tear you to threads? Take no thought for them, for they are blind leaders of the blind as natural brute beasts; basically an ass, for that is their nature. Do not be discouraged by them, for God knows them that love Him and it is He that orchestrates things in your life for your good.
Watch out for those that would control your life, for no one controls your life as you are yielded to God. Watch out for those back-seat drivers telling you what you need to do while they sit with folded hands and do nothing whatsoever. They know the answer for you in anything and everything, but yet they still do nothing. I am sure you know this already. Jesus said you will know the truthful caring people by their fruits, not by their overbearing haughtiness; for the ones that bear rule over us is not the dictators of the church, but the Lord Jesus Christ is that rule.
I’m not referring to family, your husband or wife in the following. Do you have people in your life that love the preeminence in all things, to the point that you feel that you are nothing but a grasshopper? Do these church goers or ministers appear to be your Masters that you should consult always before doing something of a private matter such as what car you should buy, what clothes to wear as well as what hairdo; down to the least detail as to where you should even buy groceries? Watch out for these superior ones in intelligence (or so they think), but care nothing for your soul. Listen to their speech which reveals their true spirit. Is their speech degrading to you or is it seasoned with salt. Do they speak with humility rather than condescendingly because they realize they too are in a body of flesh and blood just like all of us, lest they be tempted also? Many temptations and trials come upon us simply because of the way we treat our brothers and sisters in Christ. Many do not discern the Lord’s body as members in particular; therefore, sickness and disease overtake them, and some even unto death.
As we travel the road with the Gospel Tent and evangelize, we meet many new members in the body of Christ. There are some that receive us as members of the body of Christ, the church with open arms of love and charity. But there are those who go through the “TEN STEP APOSTOLIC TEST” This is the ultimate “INTERROGATION”. You know the ones. You must answer all of these correct according to their approval, or you are not going to heaven, and certainly are not going to be in fellowship with this affluent esoteric group. Do you remember your college entrance exam, the SAT? This is your Apostolic exam, the TSAT. If you pass the TSAT (pronounced T-sat), then you’re in; if not, you go straight to hell, don’t pass go. Judgment is passed, the verdict given, the sentence of the jury delivered in the halls of their mind. We as believers should realize “First impressions are impressions that last forever”. Where does love enter into this equation? There is no love in this Apostolic exam. How many times will I be required to take this raised eyebrow, throat clearing, snotty face verbal exam? Oh Jesus, help me.
Let me give you a for instance. The names will remain anonymous but the characters are most notably not fictitious. There is an outdoor BBQ and dinner on the ground accompanied with gospel music. All of a sudden, you feel that you have leprosy because you have been given the click treatment. Well after all I did fail the TSAT. Well actually I didn’t just fail I flunked it miserably. Have you ever felt like a bastard at a family reunion? Oh my! Are these Christians? I mean, I know that I am red-headed, but I didn’t know I was a stepchild. Oh yes….lest I forget. These are One God Jesus Name Apostolic believers in the church of the living God. If I didn’t know better, I thought I was dinner for a cannibalistic tribe somewhere in Africa; filleted and fried, cut to pieces and passed through the fire, ready to be devoured. Thank God there are believers that love God’s people without the standard TSAT.
Here is a novel idea: “Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” (Hebrews 13:1,2). I like the Amplified Bible on these verses also. “LET LOVE for your fellow believers continue and be a fixed practice with you [never let it fail]. Do not forget or neglect or refuse to extend hospitality to strangers [in the brotherhood--being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for through it some have entertained angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews 13:1,2 Amplified).
There are some believers who are strong in the faith while others are weak; but they are still in the faith regardless. Regardless of their level of revelation or strength of faith, we should receive and acknowledge each other as brothers and sisters in Christ; not to doubtful and perverse disputing which does the body of Christ more harm than good. Let us all walk in love; walking in all His ways bearing one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Please don’t misunderstand me. I love the body of Christ as well as the table of the Lord in ministry. I love to travel from place to place. (I also like my Bluebird Wanderlodge Coach. Brother Beard, my husband, tells everyone that he bribed me with my coach to get me to go on the road). Truth is, I would have gone without it, (but don’t tell him). The message that was on my heart simply put is; Diversity without division. All of us are different, but we should never let schisms and divisions come between us in the body of Christ.
Okay, Ready for the TSAT?
Pray for us as we travel and God bless you and your family.
Oh yea. Be leery of those BBQ’s.
