I have read this in quite a few places… “think logically” and it will help you understand the things of God.
I’m going on record today saying if you think “logically” about spiritual things of God during this lifetime, you’ll wind up with a really messed up revelation thinking the whole time it was from God.
Some things seem to make sense when analyzing with our minds. But how can we “analyze” a revelation from God?
I think we all realize how extremely small we are in comparison to God. So, how can these men I’ve seen here lately, declare what they believe is truth in the Word and even admit they believe it’s truth because of their “study of philosophy” and “observations”.
I know when I am in the middle of a church service, and Bro. Beard is deep into the Word, and in my “mind” I’m thinking how is this? But then I tell myself, do not “think” the Lord will reveal this to me. And sure enough, I receive the understanding in my heart as clear as day! I hate to admit it, but I am one of the “analytical” types. So I’m speaking from my experiences. I’ve learned to forget about calculating what makes sense in the Word with my finite mind. God is the One Who reveals all.
It really bothers me when I see people explaining things that I know are wrong because of their carnal understanding. They think because of their multiple degrees, plaques on their walls, and their place within the rankings of denominations all this makes them somehow more “intelligent” and “above” ones that don’t have these things or are not on the same “level” as their rank. In the “world’s” eyes they are looked at as being “accomplished” and “studied” individuals. In God’s eyes, their so-called wisdom is foolishness.
Not only is the wisdom of this world foolishness to God, but also are the thoughts of the wise vain. So the next time we read these long comments made in public forums using $100 long words, using Greek, Hebrew and whatever else, if we don’t feel the Holy Ghost in it, forget it. It’s all vain.
Time and time again, God warns us of being carnal and not to trust our own thoughts and understandings.
I pray we all, every day for the rest of our lives, continue to ask God to make in us right hearts so that we stay between the ditches and reach perfection as Jesus expects.
Please pray for me as I am for you!
May we always eat humble pie!
