Let me preface this article by saying I have no malice towards any man. I’ve just heard a few things here lately that I just can’t let go without explaining. Here are the following 2 misunderstandings I have to make clear…
I keep hearing tidbits of information being stated by some individuals that clearly do not understand that I have a mind of my own…and so do Robert, Brad, and Melanie. It’s insulting. If these individuals really knew us they would know that we are on the field because each of us knows from God that it’s His will for our lives now. NOT that Bro. Beard lords over us or MAKES us do ANYTHING. As a matter-of-fact, he has literally, more than once, tried to get us to LEAVE the field as he doesn’t want to see anyone suffer.
Once I know from God where I’m supposed to be (and that may take me a few rounds around the mountain to get it right), no man can get me to do anything other than what God wants me to do. Now, I’m a very hard-headed person. (I’m humbly admitting this to everyone as one of my major faults. Everyone in my family will attest to this.) No one is going to tell me what to do with my life (except God). No one is going to push me around (except God). I feel inferior to no one (except God). I was taught from a very young age to never be intimidated by anyone (except God). And to this day, I’m not, and never will be lorded over. I’m saying this once and for all to let everyone know my “Daddy” is not “forcing” me, Robert, Brad, or Melanie to do anything against our wills. Neither is he “brainwashing” us. LOL That’s a good one.
You’ll notice I call him “Bro. Beard” because in God, he’s an apostle I’m following as he follows the Lord.
I’ll say it again. If I didn’t want to be out here on the field for God, I wouldn’t be here. I know where I’ve been and I know how God has moved in my life and brought me to where I am today. Some of you reading this may think I haven’t gotten that far. You’re sadly mistaken. I’d rather be where I’m at right now being alive spiritually and have the revelation of the Word God has given me through Bro. Beard than to be where I was at before making money and living very “comfortably” and being dead spiritually. It’s a sad thing; I honestly don’t see very many people truly led by the Holy Ghost today. Everyone’s wrapped up in their “lives” and what “they” want. In being “established” and having a “reputation”. In the end, those things won’t mean anything. We need to be established in God, in the Word for these are the Things that will last for eternity.
Everyone thinks I’m only following Bro. Beard because he’s my Dad. Everyone has their opinions and will believe what they want to believe. But those of you that really know Bro. Beard, you know the type of man he is and why I follow him. Because Bro. Beard has the revelation of the Word God has given him, and is continuing to give him, because of his faithfulness, humbleness, contriteness, and continually searching for deeper truths and knowledges, I will continue on in this posse.
There is a cross you must bear. There’s no getting around it. Those who suffer with Him will reign with Him.
“It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:” (II Timothy 2:11,12) Being dead to ourselves is not doing what we want to do. We’re striving to do what JESUS wants us to do.
“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.” (Matthew 4:18-20) They walked off their jobs and followed JESUS. God literally yanked us out of the jobs we had. God's is in the business of souls. All of us need to be in that business.
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24)
That pretty much sums it up as far as being on the “field” for God.
That’s what we’re doing and no one is forcing any of us to do so.
The following scripture has been thrown at Bro. Beard: “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (I Timothy 5:8)
The individuals who threw that at him have no idea what he does behind closed doors. He spends hours upon hours, and has pulled many all nighters, with his nose in the Word studying and praying. Inner family knows inner family. And I can tell you, his whole life, his whole being, is devoted to God.
These people should have read a little further down and came across this verse: “Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.” (I Timothy 5:17) What is that….worth double honour? Yes, exactly. Double honour.
According to the scripture above, I go on record now telling these individuals that Bro. Beard is worth double honour. He does WORK. It’s called LABOURING IN THE WORD. More of us should do this with our time. He also was an excellent Dad while raising me (and still is); and, he’s a wise elder who is an apostle that I follow as he follows the Lord.
I get tired of seeing him get treated the ways I’ve seen him get treated by his so-called “friends”. I get all fired up and angry and ask him what did he say or do. But then he reminds me what Paul said “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” (Galations 6:17) Bro. Beard is obviously much more seasoned in the Lord than I am.
I guess there will always be plenty of backseat drivers out there. These backseat drivers do nothing for the Kingdom of God. They do nothing to provoke their brethren unto good works. They provide no encouragement to ones that are on the frontlines. They just smile at their brethren face to face and then run their mouths and stab their brethren in the back when they’re not around. Maybe it’s because they themselves are not doing what it is that God wants them to do and they’re just miserable??? I don’t know. I have to learn to just let it go. God knows.
If this article has come across as too negative, please forgive me. I just wanted to clarify these 2 issues that hit me the wrong way.
So, please pray for me as I strive to do God’s will and I learn to forgive and forget. There are bigger devils to fight!
I’ll say one thing about this posse I’m a member of. One is always there for the other. When you’re down in the foxhole and you turn to your brother or sister next to you, he’s/she’s there no matter how bad it gets. The lil’ petty things don’t exist in spiritual warfare. Those of you who know what spiritual warfare is know exactly what I’m talking about. There are souls that need saving and devils to fight!
